How many Diamonds can you see?

This project was an exciting piece of work. The canvas was custom built to fit a recession in the wall where a window had been, and the painting had to be done on site at the request of the Buidling Condo Association. Obviously a lot of the inspiration came from antique Art Deco posters and period photographs of Boston to compliment the 1922 construction of the building, but the final product has an original flavor not flattened by pure retro nostalgia. Jay Shoostine, Building Association President, was the force behind putting a mural in the space, but the project went smoothly with help from Harry and his men at the security desk, Bob and the building works department, and a generous amount of advice from master painter Brian Stevens. Thanks!

How well do you know your Greek Mythology?

This fireplace installation was commissioned by a collector of rare Latin and Italian books from the Renaissance period. It was completed on site at his home just outside of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, and the images were based on multiple art historic sources he favored. Although a difficult space and surface to manage, the results intensified the cozy hearth experience.
